ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Participants wishing to make a presentation on the results of their recent research are cordially invited to submit an extended abstract according to the instructions below. All contributions to the congress must be related to the goals of the congress and must be submitted in English.
How to Submit an Abstract?
a. General Criteria
When submitting your abstract, choose and enter the topic that you feel is most applicable to your abstract theme.
The submission of an abstract carries with it the obligation of presentation at the meeting by the author or one of the co-authors.
There is no limitation in the number of abstract submissions per author and no abstract fees will be charged.
An e-mail address is obligatory in order to receive information about the abstract via the web.
The leading author must be listed first on the Web site application.
The authors must indicate their preferred format for presentation (oral or poster). However, the final decision belongs to the Organizing Committee, based on the number and quality of submitted abstracts.

I. All extended abstracts will be written in English and must be 2 pages long, including all figures, tables and bibliographic references (please see ABSTRACT PATTERN FOR GEO-TEMAS in the download section). Note that a single printed page from Geo-Temas contains 4.500 characters (including spaces).
II. Authors will submit typed manuscripts using double spaced text in 10-point Times font. Figures (including any photographs) will be serially numbered and formatted according to the maximum page box size for a single Geo-Temas page (240 x 175 mm), which is divided into two columns. When choosing line width, figure heading size, hatch marks, etc., authors should account for any possible reductions in figure size to meet the aforementioned space criterion. Tables must also be ordered serially. As with the figures, authors should also ensure that the tables, if reduced, would be legible upon final printing.
III. Articles should be structured as follows:
Title
Authors: listed with first initial(s) and full last name(s), full street address, and email
Abstract: 150 to 200 words
Keywords: maximum of 5 key words
Principal text, generally comprising the following sections: Introduction/Background; Data and Results; Discussion;
and Conclusions. The principal text must meet the size requirements for the entire article.
Acknowledgements: a maximum of 3 typed lines
References: a maximum of 10 references, listed in alphabetical order according to author′s last name.
These should contain all required information for being located by bibliographic search, including the full title of the referenced work.
References should be written according to the format used in Revista de la Sociedad Geológica de España.
IV. Authors are encouraged to use a PC or Mac with a word processor such as Microsoft Word or WordPerfect. All submitted CDs must be labelled to indicate the software and version used. For other types of word processors, the recommend file formats are RTF and ASCII. Figures will be submitted in high resolution (300 ppi) at printed size and they will be accepted in the following file formats: Adobe Illustrator, Free Hand, Corel Draw, TIFF, PDF or EPS. Offprints will not be accepted.
V. Authors must submit extended abstracts before the 5th April, 2010 to contourites@uvigo.es according to the above - mentioned criteria. The deadline will not be extendable to assure the Geo-Temas editorial processes on time for the congress. Once you have submitted your abstract via the web, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail. Please check the abstract carefully before submission.
c. Abstract Evaluation
Abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the Congress, which will notify the abstract definitive approval before the 15th April, 2010.
